Behold, this might be my longest post, because what do you do when you get to a place that's too picturesque? Yes, you take pictures, lots of pictures...and in my case, breathe it, feel it and just appreciate how lovely it is to be there.
One of the things I've looked forward to in my Taiwan trip were the gardens. I've seen a lot of Instagram posts and I just fell in love on how beautiful Taiwan's blooms are. I've always wanted to see them with my very own eyes. Luckily, our first stop on our first day was the famous Houli Flower Farm located in Taichung, Taiwan.
I must say, they're A LOT beautiful in person, I mean look at them, I feel like they're so happy I'm here. I can see TULIPS smiling at me *pun intended*
Flower fields forever.
It's quite hot and bright when we got to the place since the sun was already high above. I think it's better to go here really early in the morning or just in the afternoon.
You can always wear your sunglasses anyway. Better not forget them.
Yey! another garden explored.
The kid was so happy.
As well as the other kid. Ah mom, you're too cute.
I didn't miss the chance to get a shot on the famous white piano which by the way *spoiler alert* is not a real piano.
After the garden stroll, we had lunch at Houli's buffet area. It's kinda like a Korean Samgyeopsal x Shabu Shabu x Grill kind of place. If I'm not mistaken the Houli Package costs 350NTD including the entrance + buffet. I was so hungry I forgot to get snaps of the food. Overall, it was a great experience at the Houli Flower Farm, really a must visit when you're in Taiwan.
Next stop, the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village, located in Nantou County, Taiwan. I think it's the most expensive destination on our trip since the entrance costs 800+NTD. But don't worry, it's really worth it. You'll know why, just continue reading lol.
Hello tall trees, I'm really happy to see you too. They're like soldiers raising there swords on our arrival.
But this is what I'm really looking forward to. The cherry blossoms! I' m so happy we had the chance to see them.
The big stairs to the park, I can already feel the strong culture presence.
It's like the Disneyland of Taiwan with a mix of culture, nature and amusement. If I were my younger self I'd go straight to the roller coaster.
Well, I had my time. Lol.
The famous Drop Tower ride. I can still hear the screams.
There's our cable car ride.
One thing I really enjoyed at Formosan was riding the cable cars. It's more like a ride for the adults.
We chose the crystal cabin so we can really have the best cable car experience.
I was like....
This ride looked like a lot of fun. It's like the watery version of Hogwarts.
My first cable car ride was in Hongkong which was almost 5 years ago. Still the giddy feel, still overjoyed.
By the way, we had to ride the cable car to go to the Sun Moon Lake which is on the other side of the park, also a famous destination in Taiwan.
Here we are, the Sun Moon Lake. Did a little research, it's actually the largest body of water in Taiwan, and home to the Thao tribe, one of the aboriginal tribes of Taiwan. The east side of the lake resembles a sun while the west side resembles a moon, hence the name.
My sun and my moon, Mom.
There's a cafe with the astonishing view of the lake. Wouldn't it be nice to have a cup of coffee or tea?
Too bad we only had limited time since the cable car ride will be closing by 4pm.
Just a quick snap of my favorite couple on the trip #couplegoals lol.
Bye Sun Moon Lake.
Another cable ride back to the park.
If you're afraid of heights just try the don't-look-down-or-anywhere strategy my mom did :)
Time for some cherry blossom photoshoot for everyone.
I'm just so happy we're together in this trip. And that we had great photographers as well.
Her smile is really the best gift. Thank God for these moments.
Yes girl work it. Lol.
Thankful for this beautiful miss who arranged everything.
What a lovely family.
My date for this trip. I miss this handsome and thoughtful little prince.
Up close.
And just as we thought we've already roamed the whole place. We saw this.
The portion of the park still unexplored (by us), the Lavender Carnival.
It's like the palace of the Red Queen in Alice in Wonderland, or the house of the Dao Ming fam hahaha.
It feels like walking and talking solitaire card soldiers will show up any minute to arrest me.
Hey there my queen what are you thinking of?
There's also a railroad inside the park. HOW AWESOME, pretending we're stuck lol.
And just before we left the park we luckily had the chance to watch one of the aboriginal tribe's dance.
What a day it was. The truth is, I'm really out of words of how much thankful I am for everything. God has been really good, He never fails to make my everyday and birthdays unforgettable. Life is not perfect, nobody's perfect, but if you let Him take the lead and just put all your trust and faith in Him everything will not be as hard as it seem. Open your eyes, and just see the beauty of everything. I promise, life will get easier.
