5 Reasons Why Bowling Is The Sport For Millennials (and For Everyone)

When is the last time you engaged in a sport or physical activity? Can't remember? I feel you, there are so many factors why, from crazy work schedules to many obligations, name it! but don't worry you're not the only one, in fact, a lot of us esp. the Millennials lack involvement in the sports department, some say it's the price of being in this generation where gadgets and technology seem to take over, but I guess we can always compromise and multitask, after all, this generation is all about spontaneity and I think I've found our perfect sport. Here are my 5 reasons why:

Last June 12 also the Philippine Independence Day (a national holiday) we did a semi team building activity which involved some of our church's youth officers. They decided to have a Bowling Tournament :) I'm very thankful for activities like these because it not only gave us the chance to bond but also allowed us to enjoy, relax and vent out. In life, it's very important to always have something different and spontaneous to do because it allows your mind to refresh and recharge. To some, this isn't new but for people like me who are not very sporty, it is haha. Our group got so excited that we decided to do some practice prior to the day of the tournament since none of us are pros in this sport. Which takes us to reason no. 1 why Bowling is perfect for the Millennials :)

1) You don't need to be a Pro to enjoy this sport

We all know that playing a sport or even being an expert on some involves a lot of things like being physically fit, mentally prepared, long hours of training and stuff like that, but I guess not in this one, when we went inside the bowling alley and started to play, all of us felt like we can actually do it and we can actually be good at it (but after like 10 throws haha) but seriously, it's so simple and so fun to play, you don't need to have the athlete bod/skills to be able to play this one.

2) It's so comfy to play

I am not the sporty type ever since and I'm sure a lot can relate otherwise all of us are varsities way back in highschool right? lol. Personally, if there's one thing that hinders me from being involved in some hardcore sport, it's the nature of it, not being vain, I guess I'm just not as active as some of the people I know who are really good at popular sports like basketball, volleyball, badminton etc.  I mean look at how convenient the place is! :)

No scorching heat of the sun, cozy seats while waiting your turn and there's air condition to keep you cool, so comfy! :)

3) Perfect for bonding with your family and friends

Bowling is a very interactive sport, each game is played by two or more people that's why it's perfect if you're planning for that weekend hangout with your family/friends. This sport not only allows you to bond but also engage in some physical activity, now that's multitasking! :)

We decided to divide the group in two teams to make it more exciting, and made the most creative and unique team names, as you can see haha!

I belong to Team Champion w/c is also the winning team, say what? hoho

These people are the best bowling buddies! Not bad for first timers huh? :)

4) Bowling is art

We all know that this generation also pays a lot of attention when it comes to details and appearance of things, w/c is contributed by many factors such as social media, exposure to different cultures etc. and for me, being the artsy person that I am, I appreciate the beauty of this sport. Did you know that the earliest form of Bowling was found on ancient Egypt? So it means this sport is not so new after all (yes I did some research lol)

I don't know why but when I entered the bowling alley I immediately felt the 70's vibe of the place, me and my attention to aesthetics :)

You don't always find a good place to shoot so if you do, you take advantage woot!

And I'm thankful I have these girls who gamely posed for photos! :)

And the finale shot. Familiar with this one? haha!

Look at those cute bowling shoes, wear one and you'll start to feel like a pro! :)

5) It's good for you

It's good for your health, which is nowadays being neglected by many. It does not only strengthen and tone your muscles but also allows you to lose weight since it requires your whole body to move, time to burn those calories fam :) For me, it's also a great way to meditate and improve your sense of focus. Because of so many things we do everyday, add up the stress, it's important to find an outlet where you can divert your attention and somehow free your mind from this busy world :)

Our photos on the day of the tournament, we didn't win though but we surely had the best time :)

CWS/Youth Officers Bowling Tournament Batch 2017 :)

We almost achieved the Maroon X Navy blue memo but there are two outcasts huhu

And I made sure to have the goofy snaps as always haha!

Pasok sa banga! :)

I'm just so thankful they support my silliness hoho!

This is the best bowler look I can do hehe

Btw maybe you're wondering where's this whole thing, it's at Binangonan Recreation and Conference Center (BRCC) direction's here.

This place has it all. It has a bowling center, gymnasium, conference room, ktv, restaurant/coffee shop and even a water park!

Yes, all in one place :)

It's perfect for family and barkada trips even company outings and team buildings.

Maybe just an hour and a half drive away from the city, not bad :) To know more about this cool place you may visit their website here  :)

I surely recommend you go visit this place, you'll definitely have a great time! :)
